Pets: Pets, including dogs, are welcome provided they are house trained and do not chew furniture and furnishings and are not classed as dangerous. We took our chocolate Labrador and she had a great time swimming in the sea and playing in the national park. The Spanish are friendly towards pet dogs, although less tolerent towards strays. There appears to be no problem taking them to restaurants provided you eat in the outside area - which is probably where you want to be anyway. There is a vets locally and it is adviseable to get a "tick" collar to protect against sand ticks. If staying for more than 2 months an injection may be a cheaper option.

Pet Passport
Getting your pet across the Channel is not a problem, we took our chocolate labrador Meg - getting them back can be! Vacination and blood test must be completed 6 months before return to UK. Make sure your vet completes the passport correctly and signs and stamps it. You must then get the dog "ticked and wormed" by a vet between 24 and 48 hours before boarding the train or ferry back to the UK and they must sign, date and enter the time this was done. More>>
